Hello! My name is Kyle, and I would like to ask you, what is a core value? Some people think it's a belief, while others feel it is what motivates certain actions. Those are correct, but I’d like to put more thought into it. Yes, core values are beliefs that we base our actions on, but a core value should be every single part of you. From my organs to my microscopic cells are influenced by my core values. My experiences since birth have shaped me into who I am today.
See, determination and perseverance are a strong part of my center. Those attributes are very important as they allow me to continue when times are tough. Throughout life, obstacles arise and can lead others to stop what they are doing. I used to be very stubborn, but eventually learned not to let anything bother me through my experience. Now, I will pause and deliberately think about the current situation at hand, yet still choose to persevere and dedicate myself to the task. Another value or belief I have is to always keep myself as a dependable asset and not to let myself fall short when I know I can do well.
By learning to continue to not let anything hinder my ability to finish a task, I’ve learned to continuously grow. Knowledge is power, and in everything I do, I try to find a lesson of some sort out of it. Competency is key, so if I am unsure or do not know how to accomplish something, I take pride in my ability to be resourceful. I will advocate for myself and find resources, whether it be talking to those more knowledgeable in that subject or using the Internet. This allows me to aim and constantly be on the up and in a focused direction. Although I have a certain pathway I want to follow by limiting unnecessary distractions, I still find ways to enjoy life.
One way I like to enjoy myself is within my faith and religion. Here, I find similar and very like-minded people where we can all decompress and lean on each other when needed. Whether it be fun activities or even just a nice hangout, we all keep our faith and religion above all. Personally, religion is a huge part of my life as it keeps me on the right path. It provides me a sense of justice, or what is wrong and right, which allows me to do what I need to do to keep my honor. Without honor, there is nothing, and my honor is important to me as it furthers any trust, responsibilities, or obligations that I might have. It ties back to my dependability and integrity as a person.
To sum it all up, I am a person who believes in doing the right thing to help others, and I value knowledge as the ultimate power. To achieve this goal, I choose to persevere and not give up, allowing myself to learn along the way and enjoy life as it unfolds.
